when it comes to my birthday!
I feel it is quite necessary to make something each year that will be a reminder of my birthday - another year in my life, which has come and gone.
This year I came up with these soldered Frozen Charlottes.

I love the history of Frozen Charlottes. They are German dolls which have survived - some dating as early as 1850. They were made from either china, porcelain or bisque and were originally produced as Victorian bathing dolls. In early Victorian days they were known to be baked in a childs birthday cake or pudding.

I myself didn't realize they were once used for childrens birthday cakes. Learning this, made these little momentos more significant to including them in my birthday reminder.
